Pakenham parkrun Event number 76 - 5th March 2016

An interesting day was presented to us on Saturday morning. There was a bit of drizzle around and a lot of our members were either at Relay for Life in Berwick supporting The Physicals or saving themselves for the Cardinia Fun Run/Walk on Sunday. However, 64 parkrunners was pretty good, along with 9 first timers!! These included parkrun tourists from Berwick Springs, Lillydale Lake and Balyang Sanctuary.

Many of you may already know, but Pakenham parkrun had a group of 111 people in the Cardinia Fun Run/Walk and just in case you missed our awesome photo, here it is:

Thanks to RD Anthony for his fantastic organisational skills in co-ordinating us all. He did a brilliant job!!

Gotta love the enthusiasm of our parkrunners whenever they spot a camera!!

Thank you to our amazing volunteers! So that everyone can have an opportunity to run, we ask that runners volunteer around 3 times a year. Volunteering provides enjoyment, satisfaction and allows people to give back to their community, and without volunteers, parkrun would not be possible. In order for parkrun to run every week we need volunteers. If you would like to assist, you can email us at pakenhamhelpers@parkrun.com, fill in the roster at the shelter or talk to your Run Director at the event.

Please check the future roster at: www.parkrun.com.au/pakenham/futureroster

Due to insurance purposes, we require all our volunteers to also be registered with parkrun, so please ensure that you are registered so we can add you to the roster!

We would like to thank the Cardinia Shire Council and the Pakenham Racing Club for their support in getting us up and running.

Don't forget the lovely offer from Cardinia Life for all our members with a barcode (to be shown at reception) to obtain free access to their swimming pool and showers until 11am every Saturday indefinitely!! Please note: You just have to arrive by 11am, but can stay ALL DAY :-)

PLEASE NOTE: All our photos of the event are uploaded to our facebook page - Pakenham parkrun
