Pakenham parkrun Event Number 79 - 26th March 2016: EASTER EVENT
It was a cool morning this week, but for those that dressed up in full costume, that would not have been an issue. It was fantastic to see all the bunny ears and tails as well as those who put a bit more thought into their costumes - like the chicken outfit, humpty dumpty, hot cross bun and I think I even saw a cracked egg running around!
It was also great to have the Easter Bunny visit, hand out our prizes, run in the event AND hang around for photos afterwards. He puts in a lot of effort and it was appreciated by all.
Thanks to our parkrun tourists that came all the way from Sale, Berwick Springs, Warragul and South Africa.

The Tailrunner volunteer each week has the very important role of getting all parkrunners back to the shelter safely. For this reason, they remain behind the last runner/walker. Our event does start at 8am, but we would encourage you to arrive by 7:45am at the latest to:
a) ensure you can get a good parking spot;
b) be in time to hear the run briefing - we know that a lot of it is repeated each week, but you never know when there could be a new, important bit of information and;
c) to have time to warm up, chat and get your GPS's ready (most important of all!!).
As many of you know, we also have an "Under 11 year old policy". Basically, all children under the age of 11 must be within arms reach of an accompanied adult or guardian for the duration of the course. We take this policy very seriously as they are our kids and we are here to protect them, so please ensure your children know, and understand, this policy as we would hate to have to delete a persons time for not adhering to this policy.
If you have any questions in regards to this, or any other policy, please speak to the Run Director on the day.

Thank you to our amazing volunteers! So that everyone can have an opportunity to run, we ask that runners volunteer around 3 times a year. Volunteering provides enjoyment, satisfaction and allows people to give back to their community, and without volunteers, parkrun would not be possible. In order for parkrun to run every week we need volunteers. If you would like to assist, you can email us at pakenhamhelpers@parkrun.com, fill in the roster at the shelter or talk to your Run Director at the event.
Please check the future roster at: www.parkrun.com.au/pakenham/futureroster

Due to insurance purposes, we require all our volunteers to also be registered with parkrun, so please ensure that you are registered so we can add you to the roster!
We would like to thank the Cardinia Shire Council and the Pakenham Racing Club for their support in getting us up and running.
Don't forget the lovely offer from Cardinia Life for all our members with a barcode (to be shown at reception) to obtain free access to their swimming pool and showers until 11am every Saturday indefinitely!! Please note: You just have to arrive by 11am, but can stay ALL DAY Image may be NSFW.
