Pakenham parkrun Event Number 87 - 21st May 2016

On Saturday, we had chilly weather conditions and 115 in attendance. Of these 115, we had a couple of tourists from Highlands parkrun and Warragul parkrun. We also had 5 first timers to parkrun, welcome!

Today we had the pleasure of seeing our Event Director, Michelle, complete 100 volunteers. This an amazing achievement and we all at Pakenham appreciate the time and effort that she has put in to this event. Without her, Pakenham parkrun would not be what it is.

There were 24 PBs today – which is a fantastic result – the cool conditions clearly made a difference. Seth (seen below) smashed out a 35s PB.

Hayden also had a PB today however decided to take time after his PB to do a quality jump shot.

Thanks everyone for actively volunteering at Pakenham parkrun! Volunteering is great fun as you can see from the smiling faces and a great way to give back to this wonderful event.

Thank you to our amazing volunteers! So that everyone can have an opportunity to run, we ask that runners volunteer around 3 times a year. Without volunteers, parkrun would not be possible.

In order for parkrun to run every week we need volunteers. If you would like to assist, you can email us at pakenhamhelpers@parkrun.com, fill in the roster at the shelter or talk to your Run Director at the event. Please check the future roster at:

www.parkrun.com.au/pakenham/futureroster

Due to insurance purposes, we require all our volunteers to also be registered with parkrun, so please ensure that you are registered so we can add you to the roster!

We would like to thank the Cardinia Shire Council and the Pakenham Racing Club for their support in getting us up and running.

Don't forget the lovely offer from Cardinia Life for all our members with a barcode (to be shown at reception) to obtain free access to their swimming pool and showers until 11am every Saturday indefinitely!! Please note: You just have to arrive by 11am, but can stay ALL DAY :-)

PLEASE NOTE: All our photos of the event are uploaded to our facebook page - Pakenham parkrun
