Pakenham parkrun Event Number 116 - 10th December 2016

A bit of a cool morning for summer but no wind so nice conditions for a run or a stroll. It was great to have some tourists and first timers join us with comments from visitors expressing their enjoyment of the course and being impressed with our ‘new’ course markings.
There were plenty of PB’s and some impressive runs from first timers.

Tracie O’Brien, a regular parkrun participant and volunteer was awarded parkrunner of the Month for November, great work Tracie.

Melissa Peters was awarded November Volunteer of the Month. Well done Melissa and thanks for volunteering your time.

We also had runners reaching milestones.

We had the odd glitch or two from our ‘rookie’ run director but nothing our wonderful chief run director Michelle Peters couldn’t sort. Overall it was a great morning and fun was had by all.

Thank you to our amazing volunteers! So that everyone can have an opportunity to run, we ask that runners volunteer around 3 times a year. Volunteering provides enjoyment, satisfaction and allows people to give back to their community, and without volunteers, parkrun would not be possible. In order for parkrun to run every week we need volunteers. If you would like to assist, you can email us at pakenhamhelpers@parkrun.com, fill in the roster at the shelter or talk to your Run Director at the event. Please check the future roster at: www.parkrun.com.au/pakenham/futureroster

Due to insurance purposes, we require all our volunteers to also be registered with parkrun, so please ensure that you are registered so we can add you to the roster!
We would like to thank the Cardinia Shire Council and the Pakenham Racing Club for their support in getting us up and running.

PLEASE NOTE: All our photos of the event are uploaded to our facebook page - Pakenham parkrun.
