Pakenham parkrun Event Number 127 - 18th February 2017

Perfect conditions for parkrun this week. No tourists, but we welcomed a few first timers who will no doubt be hooked on this crazy activity we all do every Saturday morning.

Congratulations to Darren Fitzpatrick who has completed his 50 parkruns is style. Darren started parkrun back in September 2015 with a time of 23:34. Darren has since dropped his PB to 18:58. He has participated in 26 Pakenham pakruns and been a regular visitor at Berwick with cameos at Maribrynong, Phillip Island, Jells, Wilson Botanic and Frog Hollow.

Lots of new PBs were broken today. A total of 25 with great teamwork and support from friends a key ingredient.

We all ran a total of 590 km, this is an important statistic as next week is Run Down Under Day at parkrun and we will be gearing up for a group photo in our RDU tops at 7:45 so make sure if you have a top, wear it next week.

As always our volunteers all had a ball. We worked well as a team while enjoying a laugh and chat while we waited for the action to really kick in.

Thank you to our amazing volunteers! So that everyone can have an opportunity to run, we ask that runners volunteer around 3 times a year. Without volunteers, parkrun would not be possible.

In order for parkrun to run every week we need volunteers. If you would like to assist, you can email us at pakenhamhelpers@parkrun.com, fill in the roster at the shelter or talk to your Run Director at the event. Please check the future roster at:
www.parkrun.com.au/pakenham/futureroster

Due to insurance purposes, we require all our volunteers to also be registered with parkrun, so please ensure that you are registered so we can add you to the roster!
We would like to thank the Cardinia Shire Council and the Pakenham Racing Club for their support in getting us up and running.

PLEASE NOTE: All our photos of the event are uploaded to our facebook page - Pakenham parkrun

If you started your parkrun journey at another parkrun and have made Pakenham your home – please make sure you update your profile to reflect Pakenham as your home parkrun. Should this not be done, any clubs you might join (Junior 10, 50 Club, 100 Club, 25 Volunteer, etc) won’t be picked up by the system to be presented by our team.
