Pakenham parkrun Event Number 51 - 12th September 2015
What a glorious morning we had on Saturday! Definitely a great sign that winter was ending and spring is just around the corner. Lucky the magpie left you all alone to complete your run in peace. Here's hoping the same will happen again this week
As you know, we have our 1st Birthday this weekend. Our costumes are all sorted and we hope to see a variety of "P" themed costumes from you as well. We are not expecting many PB's as the day is more about having fun and celebrating the great event that we have all grown together. We will be providing cake and pancakes as well as drinks provided by Tilly's Cup. We would be grateful if you could bring a small plate to share for after the run. Please arrive by 7:30am as we will be starting our presentations at 7:40am to ensure we have enough time before the event.
Thank you to our amazing volunteers! So that everyone can have an opportunity to run, we ask that runners volunteer around 3 times a year. Volunteering provides enjoyment, satisfaction and allows people to give back to their community, and without volunteers, parkrun would not be possible. In order for parkrun to run every week we need volunteers. If you would like to assist, you can email us at pakenhamhelpers@parkrun.com, fill in the roster at the shelter or talk to your Run Director at the event.
Please check the future roster at: www.parkrun.com.au/pakenham/futureroster
Due to insurance purposes, we require all our volunteers to also be registered with parkrun, so please ensure that you are registered so we can add you to the roster!
For the next 3 weeks, the roster is looking very bare. All positions are available, so if you can assist, please send us an email and/or message via Facebook.
We would like to thank the Cardinia Shire Council and the Pakenham Racing Club for their support in getting us up and running.
Don't forget the lovely offer from Cardinia Life for all our members with a barcode (to be shown at reception) to obtain free access to their swimming pool and showers until 11am every Saturday indefinitely!! Please note: You just have to arrive by 11am, but can stay ALL DAY
