Pakenham parkrun Event Number 52 - 19th September 2015
This report is earlier than normal as I am just so excited with how our day went, that I want to share it while it is still fresh in my mind.
My committee and I had been planning this day for many months, with these final weeks being very busy ensuring everything came together. Judy, with the help of Megan pre-made all the pancakes (with the donated Pancake Parlour mix). They were delicious, and thanks ladies from us all for your time and effort. Anthony came up with the idea of the photo signs along the course for you to enjoy. Anthony hand-picked each photo to show our progression throughout the year and they brought back many memories. Thanks Anthony for your creativity and help. As I said yesterday, these two really do make my job a lot easier with their love of parkrun and willingness to help.
I was informed by a very reliable source (TD - Tony O'Connell) that our 1st finisher on the day would be our 15,000km runner. This was Koby Grass. Congratulations Koby and thank you for your support. You are an inspiration and your costume choice was great!

Thank you to every one that attended our birthday, dressed up in our "P" theme, brought food to share and also assisted in us reaching a new attendance record. We had a fantastic time and hope that you did too
Thank you to our amazing volunteers! So that everyone can have an opportunity to run, we ask that runners volunteer around 3 times a year. Volunteering provides enjoyment, satisfaction and allows people to give back to their community, and without volunteers, parkrun would not be possible. In order for parkrun to run every week we need volunteers. If you would like to assist, you can email us at pakenhamhelpers@parkrun.com, fill in the roster at the shelter or talk to your Run Director at the event.
Please check the future roster at: www.parkrun.com.au/pakenham/futureroster
Just a couple of the super important people we had volunteering for our special day!
Due to insurance purposes, we require all our volunteers to also be registered with parkrun, so please ensure that you are registered so we can add you to the roster!
We would like to thank the Cardinia Shire Council and the Pakenham Racing Club for their support in getting us up and running.
Don't forget the lovely offer from Cardinia Life for all our members with a barcode (to be shown at reception) to obtain free access to their swimming pool and showers until 11am every Saturday indefinitely!! Please note: You just have to arrive by 11am, but can stay ALL DAY
