Pakenham parkrun Event Number 72 - 6th February 2016
We were once again blessed with perfect weather for our awesome event AND we once again reached over 100 participants. We had 17 first timers and an amazing 20 PB's. Well done each and every one of you for spending the first part of your weekend getting out and getting active!
Congratulations to Nathan Hilder on reaching the Junior 10 Club. Keep up the great work!
We also celebrated our January parkrunner of the month. Gary is a new addition to our parkrunner community, but he has been doing so well. Last month, Gary managed 3 PB's, an improvement of 1m32s and also volunteered. Thanks for your support Gary. Love your work!
Then it was time for our January Volunteer of the month. This one went to Rob. Rob is a regular volunteer and also regularly assists one of our Under 11 runners. Rob is a very supportive, friendly and caring parkrunner and we thank him for all that he contributes.
Thank you to our amazing volunteers! So that everyone can have an opportunity to run, we ask that runners volunteer around 3 times a year. Volunteering provides enjoyment, satisfaction and allows people to give back to their community, and without volunteers, parkrun would not be possible. In order for parkrun to run every week we need volunteers. If you would like to assist, you can email us at pakenhamhelpers@parkrun.com, fill in the roster at the shelter or talk to your Run Director at the event.
Please check the future roster at: www.parkrun.com.au/pakenham/futureroster
Due to insurance purposes, we require all our volunteers to also be registered with parkrun, so please ensure that you are registered so we can add you to the roster!
We would like to thank the Cardinia Shire Council and the Pakenham Racing Club for their support in getting us up and running.
Don't forget the lovely offer from Cardinia Life for all our members with a barcode (to be shown at reception) to obtain free access to their swimming pool and showers until 11am every Saturday indefinitely!! Please note: You just have to arrive by 11am, but can stay ALL DAY
PLEASE NOTE: All our photos of the event are uploaded to our facebook page - Pakenham parkrun
