Pakenham parkrun Event Number 74 - 20th February 2016
Another 106 participants joined us for the best start of their weekends. Welcome to the 16 first timers which included a tourist from Warragul parkrun and Sale parkrun. It is always good to visit another parkrun and experience the parkrun love!
Our previous course record, which had been held for quite some time, got beaten today by first timer, Klarie McIntyre. He was so fast that we had only just finished taking our "volunteer photo" when he came racing around the last bend. Well done Klarie!
We had 2 of our regular parkrun kids join the Junior 10 Club - Congratulations Rachel and Kaylee Mann and we look forward to seeing you in your 10 t-shirt soon!
Seeing as our regular volunteer roster is now full, we will be having pacers this coming week. Thank you to the Pakenham Road Runners for taking on this task every few months to help others reach and achieve their goals. We love and appreciate your support.
Thank you to our amazing volunteers! So that everyone can have an opportunity to run, we ask that runners volunteer around 3 times a year. Volunteering provides enjoyment, satisfaction and allows people to give back to their community, and without volunteers, parkrun would not be possible. In order for parkrun to run every week we need volunteers. If you would like to assist, you can email us at pakenhamhelpers@parkrun.com, fill in the roster at the shelter or talk to your Run Director at the event.
Please check the future roster at: www.parkrun.com.au/pakenham/futureroster
Due to insurance purposes, we require all our volunteers to also be registered with parkrun, so please ensure that you are registered so we can add you to the roster!
We would like to thank the Cardinia Shire Council and the Pakenham Racing Club for their support in getting us up and running.
Don't forget the lovely offer from Cardinia Life for all our members with a barcode (to be shown at reception) to obtain free access to their swimming pool and showers until 11am every Saturday indefinitely!! Please note: You just have to arrive by 11am, but can stay ALL DAY
PLEASE NOTE: All our photos of the event are uploaded to our facebook page - Pakenham parkrun
