Pakenham parkrun 93

Pakenham parkrun Event Number 93 - 2nd July 2016

We were greeted with a lovely morning for a run or walk on Saturday, however, some of our volunteers got a bit worried when they turned up to report for duty and I was not there yet! I wasn't far away, but good to keep everyone on their toes.....what would we do without our Saturday morning parkrun?!

Our first female passed the flags was a parkrun tourist from Perth. Thank you for visiting and hope the wedding went well. We look forward to you visiting again in the future.

As mentioned in the Run Briefing, due to assistance of our turnaround marshal, Jack, the Council had agreed to put in a gravel pathway leading from the carpark to the concrete path. They advised that it should be completed this week, so it's great to see that things are already happening!

We do have quite a few items in our lost property (as we showed this week). If you have lost anything within the last 4 weeks, please let us know as we cannot hold onto them forever and would really prefer to return them to their rightful owners!!

Thank you to our amazing volunteers! So that everyone can have an opportunity to run, we ask that runners volunteer around 3 times a year. Volunteering provides enjoyment, satisfaction and allows people to give back to their community, and without volunteers, parkrun would not be possible. In order for parkrun to run every week we need volunteers. If you would like to assist, you can email us at pakenhamhelpers@parkrun.com, fill in the roster at the shelter or talk to your Run Director at the event.

Please check the future roster at: www.parkrun.com.au/pakenham/futureroster

Due to insurance purposes, we require all our volunteers to also be registered with parkrun, so please ensure that you are registered so we can add you to the roster!

WE HAVE OUR KIDS EVENT THIS COMING WEEKEND - JULY 9. THIS IS WHERE OUR PARKUN KIDS TAKE ON ALL THE VOLUNTEER ROLES AND SHOW US ALL HOW IT'S DONE

We would like to thank the Cardinia Shire Council and the Pakenham Racing Club for their support in getting us up and running.

PLEASE NOTE: All our photos of the event are uploaded to our facebook page - Pakenham parkrun
