Pakenham parkrun Event Number 111 - 5th November 2016
Event 111 was a typical spring day in Melbourne – unfortunately it was the 5th of November! Rain threatening kept the numbers down but we were able to welcome a first timer to Pakenham as well as a tourist from Berwick Springs!
We celebrated Shane Norman becoming our parkrunner of the month in October. Shane was present at all the 5 parkruns in October - running in 4 and volunteering at one! Congratulations Shane!
We also congratulated Lauren and myself on achieving membership to the 50 Club last week.
The weather kept a few of us away but it certainly was a great day for PBs! 9 people out of the 55 runners achieved personal bests!

Thank you to our amazing volunteers! So that everyone can have an opportunity to run, we ask that runners volunteer around 3 times a year. Without volunteers, parkrun would not be possible.

Male placings:
Andrew HARRIS (SM30-34) of Pakenham Road Runners, was first over the line in 19:38 - 15th time in 75 appearances.
Hayden WALL (JM11-14) of Pakenham Road Runners, was second over the line in 20:44.
Shane NORMAN (SM30-34) (Unattached) was third over the line in 21:04.
Female placings:
Emma WILKINSON (VW45-49) of Pakenham Road Runners, was first (10th overall) over the line in 23:23 - first time in 18 appearances.
Charis WALL (VW35-39) of Pakenham Road Runners, was second (14th overall) over the line in 24:18.
Emilie BARKLEY (SW25-29) of TXR Runners, was third (15th overall) over the line in 24:21 - has been first to finish on 32 previous occasions.
The following runners recorded the best Age Grade scores:
Matthew ROBINSON (VM50-54) was graded 71.14% for the time 21:15 (4th overall).
Hayden WALL (JM11-14) was graded 69.94% for the time 20:44 (second overall).
Emma WILKINSON (VW45-49) was graded 69.28% for the time 23:23 (10th overall).
This week there were 55 runners, of whom 2 were first timers and 9 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 4 different athletics clubs took part.
Pakenham parkrun started on 20th September 2014, and since then 1,175 different runners, including participants from 59 athletics clubs, have completed 8,247 runs covering a total distance of 41,235 km, and there have been 1,670 new Personal Bests.
The female record is held by Jaimee-Lee CODE who ran in a time of 00:18:55 on 17th October 2015 (event number 56).
The male record is held by Klarie MCINTYRE who ran in a time of 00:15:40 on 20th February 2016 (event number 74).
The Age Grade course record is held by Bronwen G CARDY who recorded a 95.63% run (20:35) on 15th November 2014 (event number 9).
