Pakenham parkrun Event Number 118 - 24th December 2016
Event 118 – Christmas Eve. We had the pleasure of hosting a huge crowd at Pakenham – the largest we have seen in a while – 123 runners. Lots of Christmas themed runners out there – fantastic to see! We had several tourists, some from Canberra, one from Mornington Peninsula and even one from China!
We had a few awards to give out –firstly to Tayte Royakkers for achieving membership to the Junior 10 Club.
Secondly to Albin Hess for achieving 25 volunteers.
And last but certainly not the least, the amazing Junior Seth Peters for achieving 50 runs at parkrun, all of them being at Pakenham! Congratulations to you all!
It was great to see so many out in such warm weather – most of the runners enjoyed some cool refreshments after the event.
We look forward to seeing you at our next parkrun – New Years Eve. Don’t forget we are also running the following day – NEW YEARS DAY at 08:00. Why not also take advantage of the New Years Day Double where you can head to Berwick Springs parkrun at 09:30 and run again and this also counts as an additional run.
Thank you to our amazing volunteers! So that everyone can have an opportunity to run, we ask that runners volunteer around 3 times a year. Without volunteers, parkrun would not be possible.
In order for parkrun to run every week we need volunteers. If you would like to assist, you can email us at pakenhamhelpers@parkrun.com, fill in the roster at the shelter or talk to your Run Director at the event. Please check the future roster at:

Due to insurance purposes, we require all our volunteers to also be registered with parkrun, so please ensure that you are registered so we can add you to the roster!
