Pakenham parkrun Event Number 119 - 31st December 2016

Our final parkrun for the year and what a great turnout with 117 participants including a number of tourists and first timers and lots of locals. And what a great new years eve vibe as well!
It has been a great year of milestones and today was no different with acknowledgements for Tony, Gary, Tracie and Abbie for having reached 50 parkruns.

And didn’t some of our younger members set the standard today, Abbie Soutter joining the 50 Club and Nathan Hilder and Rachel Mann doing a brilliant job on the barcode scanning and photography.

Happy New Year to all.

Thank you to our amazing volunteers! We could not have had such a great 2016 without your willingness to contribute and share the load. You’re all awesome!

So that everyone can have an opportunity to run, we ask that runners volunteer around 3 times a year. Volunteering provides enjoyment, satisfaction and allows people to give back to their community, and without volunteers, parkrun would not be possible. In order for parkrun to run every week we need volunteers. If you would like to assist, you can email us at pakenhamhelpers@parkrun.com, fill in the roster at the shelter or talk to your Run Director at the event.

Please check the future roster at: www.parkrun.com.au/pakenham/futureroster

Due to insurance purposes, we require all our volunteers to also be registered with parkrun, so please ensure that you are registered so we can add you to the roster!
We would like to thank the Cardinia Shire Council and the Pakenham Racing Club for their support in getting us up and running.

PLEASE NOTE: All our photos of the event are uploaded to our facebook page - Pakenham parkrun.
