Pakenham parkrun Event Number 122 - 14th January 2017
Today was an overcast day – but no rain – perfect running conditions. And as expected, many came out to take advantage of the great conditions. 124 runners turned up, a couple of first timers and some tourists from Albert Park and Warragul.
We had a few awards to give out – firstly to Eryn Doyle for achieving membership to Junior 10 club and Peter Kinsella to the 50 Club.
Albin Hess – a huge volunteer supporter and active runner at Pakenham – won our parkrunner of the month for December – great job Albin!
Reg James – despite being held back by injury – continues to support us at Pakenham in many volunteer roles – and as such became our Volunteer of the Month for December!
Mark Teague was out to impress with a fantastic jump shot at the underpass!
Our volunteers tried to impress – I’ll let you judge the outcome for yourselves!
Thank you to our amazing volunteers! So that everyone can have an opportunity to run, we ask that runners volunteer around 3 times a year. Without volunteers, parkrun would not be possible.
In order for parkrun to run every week we need volunteers. If you would like to assist, you can email us at pakenhamhelpers@parkrun.com, fill in the roster at the shelter or talk to your Run Director at the event. Please check the future roster at:
www.parkrun.com.au/pakenham/futureroster
Due to insurance purposes, we require all our volunteers to also be registered with parkrun, so please ensure that you are registered so we can add you to the roster!
Remember, that we have our "Kids Event" on January 28 where our parkrun kids show us how things are done. Please come down and support them the way they support you.
We would like to thank the Cardinia Shire Council and the Pakenham Racing Club for their support in getting us up and running.
PLEASE NOTE: All our photos of the event are uploaded to our facebook page - Pakenham parkrun
